Matrimony Day celebration travels across India through Matrimony Day "XPRESS"
Witness Matrimony Day Xpress being flagged off from Chennai on Monday.
BharatMatrimony, India's largest matrimony website, kicked off the Matrimony Day celebrations this year, with an All India Signature Campaign - Matrimony Day "XPRESS" flagged off by Mrs. Akhila Srinivasan, MD, Shriram Investments Ltd.
Matrimony Day, which falls on April 14th every year, encourages people to get married and experience the joys of matrimony. In addition, it provides an opportunity for married couples to share moments of togetherness. While the institution of marriage has changed over the years and at times come under attack, matrimony is essential to secure a healthier and happier society. Matrimony Day turns the spotlight on these positive aspects and encourages the young to look forward to matrimony rather than stay away or step into it with trepidation. It also provides an opportunity to showcase the myriad hues, traditions, rituals and customs of Indian weddings that vary by religion, region, city and village.
Mr. Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder & CEO, BharatMatrimony, says: "It has been our endeavour to promote a unique day to celebrate the joys of matrimony and promote the strongest and most enduring of all relationships. Matrimony Day also provides an opportunity for people to understand and appreciate the rich Indian marriage traditions which uphold the unity of not two people but two families. Marriage is a glorious example of "Unity in diversity" in a country like India that is incredibly rich in culture and heritage. The signature campaign on wheels will travel across the major cities of India leaving a trail of fun, excitement and positive feelings about matrimony."
The All India Signature Campaign will be held across India in Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi and Kolkata and provide an opportunity for everyone to include their signature and share their wonderful experiences of marriage. BharatMatrimony has also designed a marriage slogan contest to coincide with the celebrations. The winner of the contest will be announced in the grand finale at Kolkata on April 12th.
